Luneta Mezcal Papalometl con Espadilla 750ml
Heated over a carefully tended fire, the fermented agave is distilled in a copper still. The second distillation is conducted in a still made of a stainless steel pot and a tree trunk neck. Abdias makes micro batches that usually range from about 60 to 150 liters. Master mezcaleros in the hills east of Volcano Popocatépetl have been using bull hides as fermentation vessels for centuries. After a stint in the USA as a gardener, Abdias returned to his homeland of Puebla to study liquid wisdom from his aging father. Years later, Abdias works with bull hides, a tree trunk still neck and other techniques his ancestors applied to craft Luneta's Papalometl+ Espadilla.
Craft & conservation are fundamental to Wolf Spirit’s beliefs. To reflect those values, Mama Chuy & Luneta’s bottles + copitas are hand blown with recycled glass in Guadalajara. All labels are made with up-cycled agave fibers by a Oaxacan Artisan & applied by hand at a family run bottling facility in Puebla. We use natural wood corks & our bottles are sealed with biodegradable wax. No two bottles are the same.
