Normandin Mercier Pineau des Charentes Très Vieux Blanc

Normandin Mercier Pineau des Charentes Très Vieux Blanc

Normandin Mercer Pineau des Charentes Très Vieux Blanc

Pineau des Charentes is a sweet, reasonably strong "Vin de Liqueur" of the Charentais (Cognac) region of western France. It is made by adding Cognac eau-de-vie from the previous year's distillation (or older) to fresh grape must of the current vintage.

A blend of two-thirds fresh, ripe white grape must with one-third young Cognac brandy, all aged in oak barrels. The rancio expresses itself with intensity and length.

More concentrated and full-bodied than its predecessors, it will go wonderfully well with foie gras mi-cuit or roast duck breast stuffed.
